Hi!! Today is my first day! I hope I'm starting out on the right foot! I have the book but I haven't thoroughly read the whole thing!
I weigh 187 and I'm not happy. I got married last August weighing 162.. So that 25 pound weight gain has been depressing!
My brother is getting married in August of this year and I hope to be down to the 162 weight again!!
I need to go grocery shopping but today so far I have ate:
Breakfast- string cheese, crystal light
Lunch-big salad with mozz., bacon, canadian bacon, 2 olives, and tomat. with ranch dressing (is that okay)
dinner- chicken and something else??
Snacks- I need to go to the grocery store.. Can I find sugar free fudgecicles anywhere?? Just look for sugar free?? |

Ranch dressing is usually high in carbs, so look at the Reduced Fat or Light versions. Since starting this diet I like Olive Oil and Red Wine Vinegar.
There is confusion with the fudgesicles, they say No Sugar Added, not Sugar Free. Milk contains sugar, so you can not have a completely sugar free ice cream. I like the Blue Bunny No Sugar Added ones, myself.
The general rule of thumb is 1 cup veggies for breakfast(I usually tried to have mine as my mid-morning snack) 2 cups for lunch and 2 cups for dinner.
Hope that helps. |

Hi Paige.. Thanks for the info.. Hidden valley ranch has 1g carb and 1g sugar for 2 TBS. Is that okay or should I look for something that has zero?
What about cheese. Can I eat as much as I want as long as it's reduced fat?
Thanks

That sounds good.
As for cheese, this really depends on you. Some people on SB will only eat lf(low fat) or rf(reduced fat) cheeses. I can not find lf or rf colby, so I use ff(full fat). I eat a slice or two every other day or so. I have had no problem losing weight with the ff cheese. If I can find LF or Part Skim cheeses then I do buy them-mozzarella is the easiest to find.
I think with anything on SB moderation is key. Do I recommend eating cheese 3 times a day, no. But I do love cheese and like I said before, have about 2 slices every other day.
You will have to see what works for you. |

Well it's day four of phase one and the headaches are gone!! I have had dull headaches for the last 2 days... I haven't had any caffeine since day 1.. I just haven't had the craving for it...(that might explain the headaches!!)
I wasn't going to weight myself till one week was over but I gave in on day 3 and I have lost 5 lbs.. So I hope the weight keeps coming off!!
I'm so happy to have peanut butter.. I haven't had peanut butter in years! |

Well, today is day 7 and I've lost 6 pounds so far. I'm happy with that and I hope it dosen't stop!! Tomorrow I'm going to begin working out everyday. I think I will be able to lose more weight in week 2 if I work out.
I've been sticking to the permited foods. This is one of the first diets I have ever been able to actually stick to!! I've tried the atkins diet and I was so miserable on it. On the SB I feel good and I'm much happier! |

Sounds like you are doing great! I found that the weight really came off when I was exercising...and there is something about the endorphins that supresses hunger, at least for me!
Take care,

Thanks girls!! I went to the gym this morning and I fast walked on the tredmill at on incline and I did lots of upper body machines.. I was at the gym for an hour and I feel that I got a good work out.
It seems like when I first start exercising I'm a little sluggish but it gets better half way into it.
Trying to get myself to make some eggs for breakfast.. :? Eggs just don't sound good to me at the moment!!

Okay.. Well I'm back on track. I had a rough weekend but I tried really hard to stay on track. I went to the Kenny Chesney concert and about 14 of our friends went out before the concert for cocktails. I tried hard to stick to rum and diet cokes but a couple of rum punches were bought for me and I didn't say no.. :(
Today I should be starting phase II but I think I'm going to try and stay on phase I this week. I got on the scale this morning and it said that I have gained 1 pound since friday. I don't want that to go up any more!! I need to also watch my portions of PB and Nuts!! I'm going to work harder this week!!!!
Started June 7th at 187 lbs
June 21st: 180.5
Height: 5'8"
25 years old |

| One more thing! I'm finding myself to not want to eat. I'm rarely hungry anymore and if I am I just eat a cheese stick or pistachios or a tablespoon of peanut butter. Has this happened to anyone? The thought of eating eggs and salads make me a little un easy!! :D Even though I still eat a big salad every night for dinner. Never thought I would get sick of eating!! Haa! |

Hey PinP!
You are doing great! I know what you mean with the going out and trying to be good ... it's so hard! It was so hot hear the other day, I was longing for an ice cold beer (I drank Kool Aid instead - and trust me, it's not the same! ).
And, keep in mind that even though you don't always feel hungry, you need to eat every 3 hours or so to keep you blood sugar stable and your metabolism reved up.
I'm rooting for you!

| Somedays the food gets to me worse than others, but I look out the window and think of myself in summer clothes and I grudgingly shove another forkful of eggs, lettuce, etc in my mouth! |
