Ok, you guys are the only ones that know my true weight 260 lbs. I have tried not eating, Atkins where I actually lost 20 lbs but it came back. I am healthy but not happy with myself. I went grocery shopping yesterday and wanted to buy a new book to read. I saw the SBD book and hemmed and hawwed on wether I should buy it. I decided that I didn't have anything to lose and picked it up. Today is my first day and I am proud of myself that I have not given up. I thought about it. I wanted a bowl of cereal but instead....I came to the message board and read a few post and while I still want the cereal I decided that I am more important than that short term fix. I want to badly to be 100 lbs lighter by this time next year and I am so going to try this time. I think this may be the time and you all may be the people to help me get through this. If I sound cranky at times in my journal just know that I have to change 32 years of bad eating habits.
Thank you for listening. |

Welcome to the beach,
Its a place we can all help each other. My kids tried to get me back to TOPS and I said I am staying at the beach. Here I feel people really care. I have 52 years of bad eating and 140 pounds to go just to get to 200. That may be a high goal but I will be happy .

I can’t thank you all enough for your support!
Today is day two and while I still have some bad wants I think because I have more than me that will be let down I will do this. It is just amazing to me that there are so many people with the same struggles, fears, and needs as me. I have decided that today I am going to try even harder and by that I mean add water to my daily in take. I have never been a big water drinker. I would rather grab a soda and be on my way. It is always diet soda which I know is better than regular but the less soda the better right?
With my three kids 13, 11, and 8 it is harder than I thought. They still want all the stuff that I have been used to eating. I have decided that I think they should be on a modified form of this diet. Not that they are over weight but who can’t benefit from healthier eating?
Well, until tomorrow (day 3) take care and happy eating. |

Way to go Stacy!!!! Success like that is great to hear! Keep up the great work and you're motivating me to stay up with you!!!
I am on day 4 as well and I haven't weighed yet...I'm even guessing about my start weight based on the last time I was at the dr. I need to get a scale this weekend. Hope I'm happy with what I see...can't tell any difference in the clothes yet...hopefully soon. I know I feel better.
Happy friday!

stacy- great job. 8 pounds is a lot!!! Remember to keep drinking the water. I fill up 10-12 ounce bottles and put them in the fridge. That way when I am running out the door to drive the kids somewhere I grad a water bottle. I like the smaller bottles because I like my water COLD. I also freeze a few big bottles 1/2 full with water. Then if I am going to one of the kids games or someplace I will be awhile I fill up the bottle and I have water and am not tempted to buy a soda. In the forum there is a thread about how much water you should drink. It says take your weight and divide it in half and that number is equal to how many ounces of water you are suppose to drink. If you drink a caffinated beverage you are suppose to add 8 more ounces. That thought alone makes me think twice before I drink a soda. I find drinking that much water I don't need the soda anymore.
I did have wicked caffiene headache when I quit but I feel much better.
Keep up the good work. |

Well, today is a week and I am so happy! I feel great, keep telling myself that I look great. One day I will have that size 10/12 I want. I am starting to think that while the first couple days were the hardest, you really can make this a lifestyle change. I am still on P1 and I don’t ever have any problems finding things I like to eat and that taste good. I didn’t drink near as much, ok none, water as I wanted to this weekend but I think that has to be a change I work on. I have never been a big water drinker and I have to remind myself to drink it.
I took the kids to Burger King twice this week and did not even snitch a fry. It was harder the first day than the second but I keep telling myself as long as the scale keeps going down it is all worth it.
I did have a hard time last night. The neighbor kid, who is only 16 hurt my feelings so bad I wanted to cry and the first thought was !@#$ it and wanted to grab some cheese popcorn. Then I started thinking who is he to judge me and why do I even care. I didn’t have the popcorn and I am glad. I would have felt awful and it is not worth it.
Until next time you all take care! |

Stacey-- were are you???? I just stopped in to say Hi and see how the diet was going. I think I am down about 1-1/2 pounds this week. Not great but not too bad either. I am happy with it.
How is everything going? I have had a few bad days with doctors and school but it is now the WEEKEND. It will still be busy but not so emotionally draining. I one daughter that has to be at a shooting sports program and 3 that need to be at a parade. We will probably divide and conquer. I am not sure which I will get. We are also having an auction at the house so it will be very busy. I am going to try to get the pool running. |
